Today was the Crestline Jamboree Days here in Crestline. The Chamber of Commerce puts it on every year. Usually, it consists of a parade, fair, and fireworks, but this year there was no money for fireworks. Lucky for us the parade starts right in front of our house.

The parade is fun it has lots of different types of entries:

AJ got a couple of pictures with the local celebrity:

AJ’s favorite part of the parade was the candy. He definitely got a lot of it:

After the parade they have a little fair:
For three dollars I got a Cream Cheese Wonton, Chop Suey, and some Teriyaki Chicken. For those of you who say that I wasn’t very American I would remind you that all of those things were invented in the United States (really Google it). The celebrations here in Crestline are very small town, but it was really fun. Here is a little video I made of our festivities:

  1. Hi! I was thinking about heading up there on Monday for this year’s celebration, but I’m wondering how bad traffic and parking will be. Any chance you could tell me?

    • Hello, and thank you for the comment. I hope you get a chance to come up this year. This year the party is starting on Friday, July1st with a viewing of National Treasure on the lake.
On Saturday, July 2nd The parade starts at Fern Drive and goes down Lake Drive. The parade stages on Fern Drive at 8am and will start at 10am. From 10am to dusk most of the business will be having events along Lake Drive (surprisingly though this year they will not be closing down Lake Drive). As soon as it is dark there will be fireworks over Lake Gregory.
On Sunday, July 3rd there will be a sailing regatta at 3pm and boat parade at 7pm.
On Monday, July 4th is the community picnic at the ballfields from 11amto 5pm.

The only issues you should see for parking will be on Saturday and Monday. On Saturday I would avoid driving down Lake Drive if possible. My suggestion that day would be to park and drive along straight way road. It is right behind Lake Drive and will be easier to manage.

On Monday if you find that the parking by the ballfields is full you can park along san moritz drive or by the waterslides and walk the trail over to the ballfields (about .25 miles). Hope you make it up this weekend. It looks like the weather is going to provide for an awesome weekend.
